This module aims to equip students with technical knowledge and competencies in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), for the production and management of quality pharmaceuticals.
- Teacher: Prof Egide Kayitare
- Teacher: Prof. Shital Maru
Aim of the module: To integrate knowledge and skills for application in the manufacturing process for biopharmaceuticals, vaccines and other biological products. It also enhances technical decision-making in bioprocessing, final fill and finish, and good manufacturing practices in biopharmaceutical, vaccines and other biological products manufacturing.
Brief description of the module: This module is intended to equip students with theoretical skills and advanced techniques of biomanufacturing for application in the industrial manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, vaccines and other biological products. A special focus will be paid to expression systems in biomanufacturing, bioprocessing, upstream processing (USP) and downstream processing (DSP), final fill and finish, process scale-up, validation and technology transfer for biologics, and good practices (GxP) for vaccine production. Students will gain knowledge an skills for application in biopharmaceutical industry.
