Immunisation Supply Chain Management Rwanda
General Health Supply Chain Management (GHSCM)
The course covers introductory level supply chain management, presenting basic principles of supply and support structures and functions, specifically focusing on health supply chain management challenges in a public sector environment. The course engages participants in analyzing case studies that describe efforts to improve commodities supply chains and healthcare delivery in resource-poor settings. Other areas covered in the course include logistics Management Information Systems, logistics simulation, overview of quantification and procurement of health commodities, assessing health supply chain performance, and commodity security
Analysis of medicines using the GPHF Minilab
In the EAC region, there is a young and growing population with an expanding middle class, an increasing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and a continued prevalence of infectious diseases. At the same time, studies revealed the continued presence of poor-quality medicines, for the treatment of both NCDs and infectious diseases, on the EAC's market. The continued risk of exposing the population to poor-quality health products requires consolidated and coordinated efforts in the fight against substandard and falsified medicines.
Training on the use of Minilab is required for quick and inexpensive medicine quality screening. This is a transportable, self-contained kit ready-packed with glassware, standards, solvents, reagents, and thin-layer chromatography (TLC) tools (plates, lamps, etc).
The use of Minilab kits and methods boosts medicines testing capacity and protects patients against medicines of extremely poor quality infiltrating the drug supply chains of governmental, private, and public sectors, especially in developing countries. Offering training on the use of the GPHF Minilab in the EAC Region will be benefitted by many professionals working in medicine quality assurance, post-marketing surveillance, health products regulation, and academia in the EAC region.
The training in GPHF Minilab techniques and methods aims at equipping the supply chains workforce in the EAC region with strong skills in the rapid and inexpensive screening of health commodities entering the EAC region's market, to identify any substandard and/or falsified medicines, and therefore, prevent its use by the population
Immunization Supply Chain Management(iSCM)
This course will provide you with a better understanding of the role that strong immunization supply chain systems play in achieving the global and local immunization mission. You will acquire the skills and know-how to identify problems and opportunities for improving the efficiency of the immunization supply chain and plan for the introduction of new vaccines and campaigns/SIAs.
Global Standards for Traceability of Health Products and Technologies
The course on global standards for traceability of health products and technologies covers the fundamental concepts, principles, and practices of traceability as it relates to global standards. The global standard provides a global framework for identification, serialization, and the traceability of health products and technologies. Traceability is the ability to track and trace the movement of products, services, or information through the supply chain from the point of origin to the point of consumption. It is an essential tool in ensuring product safety, quality, and authenticity as well as compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
Immunisation Supply Chain Management
A strong supply chain is a prerequisite to improving immunization coverage and equity and reducing child morbidity and mortality. These systems ensure proper vaccine storage, distribution, handling, and management. Ultimately, the goal is to guarantee an uninterrupted availability of high-quality vaccines throughout the entire supply chain, from manufacturer to service delivery levels.
This course will assist countries in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of immunization delivery as an integrated part of the health system by training you on immunization supply chain management, the benefits of immunization, the strategies of how to deliver it, the various acquisition models, and an insight into the global, regional, and national perspectives on immunization.
